515th Sapper Company

5th Engineer Battalion

Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri

The 515 Engineers out of Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, were deployed to Iraq (May 2008) to continue the fight for freedom and democracy in the Middle East.  We are now focusing our efforts at making sure our service men and women of the 515 Engineers have items of comfort from home.

One of the young men serving with the 515 is Jeremy Cochran, the son of our Honorary Member, Lois Cochran and her husband, Dennis Cochran.

     August 2008 Update

The 515 is on the move - packages need to be "held" until we receive word that they have reached their new destination, then we can resume sending items to our adopted soldiers.

We currently have seven individual soldiers which our members or secondary members have adopted.  Please help support our efforts to make sure that these young people are taken care of during their stay in Iraq.  For more information on where to send care packages, or if you would like to adopt one of our soldiers, please contact Reba Peden, PP, PLS, at rpeden@brunini.com.

Tri-County’s Adopt-a-Soldier Program is an ongoing project. As coordinator of the program, I would like to personally say a great big THANK YOU to our members and secondary members for stepping up to the plate and participating in this program. They are spending money from their own pockets to fill and mail goodie boxes to the unit we are supporting in Iraq.

I would also like to recognize these young men and women and say a public THANK YOU to them for the service they are providing to us and our country. There are no words to adequately convey how we feel toward these young men and "Thank You" seems totally inadequate.  Our heartfelt thanks go out to all of our soldiers.

For each soldier that has fallen so that many may stand
We honor their spirit as they pass to God's hand
For without their sacrifice we would live forever in fear
We pray for their loved ones and provide a salute and a tear
God help us heal the wounds of hate and the misery of war
That is our gift to our fallen heroes that are amongst us no more.
